Edgar M. Carvalho is Professor of Medicine of the Federal University of Bahia Medical School and Senior Investigator of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. He is a clinic immunologist with expertise in the pathogenesis, Immunology and therapy of tropical diseases mainly in leishmaniasis, helminthic infections and Human T cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1 infection). He has developed the facilities to follow a large amount of patients as well as carriers in the endemic areas of the Schistosoma mansoni and Leishmania braziliensis infection and in a HTLV-1 clinic at the University Hospital of Federal University of Bahia.

Prof. Eliora Ron serves as Scientific Advisor of BioPetroClean. Prof. Ron served as Scientific Director and Member of Scientific Advisory Committee at MIGAL - Galilee Research Institute LTD. until November 7, 2016. Prof. Ron is a Professor of Microbiology at Tel Aviv University. She serves as the author of more than 150 publications and holds several patents. She serves as Chair of Manja and Morris Leigh for Biotechnology and Biophysics. She serves as President of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies and Federation of Israeli Societies of Experimental Biology. Prof. Ron holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Harvard University.

Professor Timms is Professor of Microbiology at the University of Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. He is a nationally and internationally renowned microbiologist with specific expertise in the area of Chlamydia. His laboratory is acknowledged as the leading Australian laboratory and one of the leading groups internationally working on all aspects of chlamydial infections. His research group of 12 staff and students is developing vaccines and new diagnostics for chlamydial diseases in humans and animals as well as an improved understanding of chlamydial genomics, cell biology and pathogenicity. The group is widely acknowledged for its major contributions to chlamydial infections in koalas and other wildlife, including the development of a vaccine for koalas. He has published over 250 papers, reviews and book chapters in peer-reviewed international scientific journals.

Luis Ulloa is Associate Professor of Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School, USA. His study focuses on innate immune responses to septic and aseptic conditions and their regulation by the nervous system in experimental models of sepsis and hemorrhage/Resuscitation.

João R. Mesquita (D.V.M., M.Sc.; Ph.D.) is a Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Veterinary Section, where he teaches topics within Infectious Diseases for more than 10 years. On the past decade he has focused on Virology, where he has published 44 papers in Scopus indexed Journals. He has won several scientific prizes from different societies and conferences, where he has presented numerous oral and poster presentations.
